Glogster

We used Glogster to create a poster-like page in which we talked about the reflexive verbs we learned. We included everything we learned about reflexive verbs, such as the reflexive pronouns and how to conjugate the verbs. Also, we embedded a video to the Glog, where we discussed our morning routine in Spanish. This project was used in place of taking a test.

I prefer doing a project like this over taking a test. I am a visual learner, and so things stick in my brain better when i can look at them. By typing the things we had learned into the Glog, I was able to remember them better. Tests make me nervous and I don’t enjoy filling out a bunch of answers that I most likely already know. The Glog was a fun way to reiterate everything we had learned.

Describing Nelly Cruz

The purpose of this blog post is so that we can practice telling what people are like.We need to be able to describe people in Spanish.  Learning this descriptions is important because we describe people in English daily. By describing Nelson Cruz, we are improving our skills and will be able to better describe others in Spanish.

Voki.

Recently, in Spanish class we created a Voki character online and added a voice to it. We started by creating an account on the Voki website and creating an avatar for ourselves. Next, we were required to call the phone number for the website and record oursleves speaking in Spanish and saying what we like to do. After that, we had to save the recording and email it to Mrs. Hugghins.

Personally, I enjoyed the project. I liked being able to create my own avatar but I didn’t like having to record my own voice because I thought it sounded funny. However, I did like that we got to use technology for a project.

Third Six Weeks

For the third six weeks, I learned all about waves.  I learned all the different types of waves, such as mechanical waves, transverse waves, compressional waves, electromagnetic waves, and information about each and every wave.  I know a ton of new vocabulary words and how fast the speed of sound and light is.  I learned about amplitude, wavelength, crests, troughs, frequency, color, pitch, reflection, refraction, diffraction, and so many other things. This was one of my favorite things to study especially since we learned about reflection and prism. The projects are getting better every six weeks.

Second Six Weeks

This six weeks project went a lot better than the last six weeks project.  It was less hectic and I learned a lot about Isaac Newton’s Laws.  I also learned about displacement, acceleration, velocity, speed, inertia, mass, motion, as well as balanced and unbalanced forces. In another chapter, we learned about chemical equations and all the parts of chemical equations.  Now, I know how to write chemical formulas and equations properly.  I understood the lessons very well.  My part in this project especially helped me to understand the lesson.  I made the review for the class.  I’m starting to enjoy the projects we are being given.

First Six Weeks Project

This six weeks I learned about atoms and the periodic table. My group set up a little activity for the class.  The activity was an atom model.  It was fun for me.  I learned all about protons, electrons, neutrons, groups, rows, Representative elements, half lives, and elements.  Honestly, I never got the full understanding about alpha and beta particles and half life didn’t make too much sense either.  I’m not sure I like the idea of the class teaching me because they might forget to include something important in their lesson.  I might end up missing out on something important.  The project was challenging for me, possibly too challenging.  I liked the projects, but ours was a little chaotic.
